Better get used to carrying lots of singles next time you fly. US Airways is now terminating free drink service. No, not free mini bottles of Jim Beam and cheap Chardonnay, we're talking about all drinks, including soda, fruit juice, coffee, and bottled water, which will soon cost $2 each. Presumably tap water, which may or may not be contaminated with fecal coliform bacteria, will still be free.
Soon you are going to have to feed a dollar into a machine to use the bathroom. Next up will be an extra fee for seats near the front of the plane. Then a fee to use the overhead bin. Then a fee to use the fold down tray table. Then a fee to switch the light on, use the air vent, or to press the flight attendant call button. Then a fee for boarding less then an hour before the flight. Last will be a fee for fresh oxygen. And a tip for the pilot and crew....or risk a bumpy flight and landing.

Looks like US Air want to compete with AA for stinginess. See how they got you coming & going i.e you can't carry liquids with you on the plane, so you either die from thirst or pay the price for the dishwater that passes for tea.Steups!!!!
Maybe they will add a "safety" fee - that is, in case the plane goes down, there is a little plane that detatches and can glide down safely....Cost? A bargain at $100.00/ticket. A sure way to make money and keep the airlines in business. Does this little plane even exist? Is that a risk you are willing to take?
Another way to get money is a "protection" fee. You wouldn't want any rival passengers to give you a hard time would you? Just pay unusually large flight attendant named Lou at the time of boarding and you'll be just fine....
One of the airlines, don't remember which one, is now charging $5 for middle seat; $10 for window or aisle; and $15 for exit row. What if we all opt for middle seat? To think you have to help evacuate passengers in an emergency and have to pay for that seat "to boot" They should give a price reduction if you sit in the exit row.
